Natchez, Mississippi

Often, as you walk through a cemetery, you will see a monument that looks like a broken column. The design originated in England around 1815 and usually marks the grave of a child or a young person whose life has been cut short.

I got a call from a very good friend last night. He lost his younger brother to suicide.

This is for him.

A very appropriate tribute to a life cut short. And as always, a beautiful photo.

Sorry to hear about your friend's loss.

Oh Sher.. I am so sorry for your friend's loss.
I've always seen these type grave markers but never knew they had a special meaning.
Beautiful image.
