Dead humpback whale

Newport Beach, Sydney, Australia

A dead humpback whale was found in a rockpool at Newport, Sydney. It was on its migration north and apparently died of natural causes. National Parks & Wildlife Services attended, along with Orca, and eventually the whale was washed out of the rockpool by a heavy surf.

A sad sight. We get an occasional whale washed ashore here, but smaller species.
