Sheffield City Centre

This is the gable end of a four storey building near Police Headquarters, Sheffield City Centre.
The 'Steelworker' was commissioned by Sheffield City Council and it was completed around 1986.
The artist was Paul Waplington and the piece uses 30,000 bricks of 18 different types and 5 types of mortar.

oh I love stuff like this - I don't remember seeing it last time I was in the city - will need to look more closely next time.
