They & The Sea, Knokke-Heist 2009

This image was not set up (well I asked them to stay still for a second...but basically tis is how they were before I took the image).

Strange how sometimes history rpeats itself (I think it was Truman who said..."the only ting new is the history you didn't read about").

Anyway, about two years ago (in my digital days) I produced a series on my son and his overly rational fears. It was titled "He & The Sea" and you can find it here

He & The Sea

Anyway..here he is two years later, guiding his younger sister through the challenges that he faced. Damn near brought a tear to my eye....Kal

I've been thinking about this image off and on all day - I think it's because I remember very well your series with Noah and his hesitancy two years ago. It's touching to imagine him leading his sister through the gauntlet that he has since conquered, offering support he will probably give her for many years to come. You're not the only one with a tear....

Very much like the tide and the waves...

A timeless image in its abstract form and symbolic values. Yet time does not stand still, and the children who stand at the edge of sea with such mutual trust in each other here, will soon be challenging life on their own. Fortunately, they will always have this image. And so do we.

Beautiful, Kal. Glad you could catch them in that second they were still :) Love children and shot, V~
