Varanasi

Varanasi, also known as Banaras, is one of the oldest cities of India, with a written history dating back over 4,000 years. It is also the holiest of Hindu cities, located on the holiest river in India, the Ganga, or Ganges River. Pilgrims from all over India come here to partake in the various ceremonies, primarily involving the Ganges River.
