En-route mild winds and overcast accompanied us longer than anticipated. Instead of getting a suntan, we even put on our warm jackets. The biggest surprise came when we arrived in Avalon and paid our dues to the Harbor Master: Avalon Harbor was full! We were send out all way past Descanso Beach to the edge of the Hamilton Cove. With a somewhat rocking seas on the first day, we have had even some small doubt about using our Zodiac with 4 people in it. It was a long haul in either direction, partly in the darkness. But the sea settled and all the trips to and from Avalon Harbor proven to be uneventful.
