Badami was also on my list of out-of-the-way places to visit this month, and I surprised to find so many other tourists there. The countryside was striking, and the town itself - away from the main road - had a biblical feel. As I walked the narrow lanes between the boxy houses, children pleaded for me to photograph them, and I was happy to oblige.
