Lafreniere's First Registered Live Oak (Quercus virginiana)

The Park finally has a live oak large enough to qualify for membership in the Live Oak Society.
It is #5770 on the Society's registry and is named "The Peggy McNaul Conley Oak" in honor of a lady who was a pioneer in the Park and initiated its first big fund raiser "The Cotillion in the Pavilion". Mrs. Conley died unexpectedly on February 2, 2002.
Standing next to the Conley oak is Coleen Perilloux Landry, chairman of the Live Oak Society.

Coleen, what is the size requirement for a tree to be registered? This one
looks like a youngster.
