A Winter Evening on the Mississippi River

Montz, Louisiana

A cold, blustery evening with temperatures in the 30's. This was taken at 5:15 p.m. and that is the sun reflection in the sky and the water. The sun itself is covered by clouds on the left outside the viewing area.
I believe the opening in the sky is called an ice hole.

Wow Coleen this is a great photo. If the opening in the sky is called an "ice hole", it sure does provide a beautiful reflection on the water. I'll vote for this one.

If we were not so well-informed and well-educated, we might see that glorious openning in the clouds as a sign of hope and good fortune.

I can't remember seeing even this much light in the sky in days.....maybe tomorrow. this is a beautiful, tranquil scene and I can feel the cold.

It really does look cold, you can almost feel the chill in the air!
