France Lends a Hand

New Orleans Museum of Art in City Park

New Orleans was founded by French explorers in the 1600's and there has always been a bond between Louisiana and France. \
Following Hurricane Katrina the French government looked for a way to help New Orleans. An exhibit titled "Femme, Femme, Femme" opened at the New Orleans Museum of Art last week. The paintings come from all of the museums in France and is on loan to New Orleans.
The beautiful paintings depict the lives of women--working women, women in the home, women in the arts and women at leisure. It is a magnificent exhibit with more than 60 paintings, some of which occupy an entire wall. The exhibit continues through the first week of June.
