On this Thanksgiving as my family gathers at the table we give thanks for being together, for having survived the past year of recovery from Hurricane Katrina and for all the good things that have come our way. Some 100,000 families in our area are living in FEMA trailers.
Our youngest son and his wife helped prepare some of the dinner in his house where he still lives on the second floor with no kitchen. (I don't know where he cooked.) Our daughter had her kitchen sink installed this week by our PBase plumber, Joshua Mayer, so her kitchen is almost operable again.
And, to all of my PBase community I send the heartiest wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.
