Eaglets of older pair

Please realize that I am shooting from about 75 yards away and 60 feet in the air.
These are the eaglets of the couple who had to build a new nest after Hurricane Isaac destroyed their nest of 10 years. They built such a railing around the "playpen" that it has taken a while for me to be able to see them and today was the first time they poked their heads up over the railing.. My thoughts are that they were hatched on December 28.
You have to look closely to see the two very close together. They are already a nice size with full feathers.

Canon EOS 40D
1/800s f/10.0 at 420.0mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Regardless of the shooting circumstance you did a great job in capturing this eaglet...

You did very well! I can understand how far one must shoot from. I have to do that too with an eagle's nest on a nearby butte

How cute! Always amazed about the nest, quite the construction project.

It is a playpen, Ed. They put those railings so the babies don't fall out of the nest.

Not a playpen Coleen... it's air conditioning! Nice capture!
