Eagles Hopefully Building New Nest - September 23, 2012

Hurricane Isaac destroyed the more than 1,000 pound nest that the eagles built several years ago and returned to every year. The tree top snapped off.
This is an adjoining cypress to the old tree and I believe the branches in the fork are the beginnings of a new nest. Hopefully, I can capture them building it.

It would be a fine catch, lets hope the tree is strong enough to withstand future storms.

Must have been a Summer cottage, around here the nests are closer to 2000 pounds! Hope this is in a place you can get to and be able to keep an eye on it! Nicely seen Coleen!

It seems humans are not the only ones who relocates after a storm...
Nice image....
