Doullot Steamboat House

Holy Cross Neighborhood - New Orleans

Built by a ship captain, it overlooks the Mississippi River in the Holy Cross Neighborhood of New Orleans.
The interior of the first floor is handsomely built of tile to withstand any overflow of water that may come on to the property. The rest of the house is built of cypress. The marvelous scallops under the roofline are also wooden.

Wow, a piece of art! Love the craftsmanship in some of the older buildings. You can see a lot of that east of the Mississippi River. Have a wonderful weekend, Coleen!

Beautiful house though I'd hate to have to paint it. Love the pastel trim.
