31-AUG-2004 Chris Brooker

31st August 2004

The End

I decided that I wanted a photograph of a funeral.
I looked in the local newspaper and saw that there was to be one at a local church.
The old chap was 92 and died after a short illness.
I was very careful not to be seen by the family and hope that he enjoyed photography during his life.

I have enjoyed my year of “Today’s Photograph” and wish to thank you all for your friendship and support.
I have learned both from my work and also from yours.
I am starting a 26 day project tomorrow which I hope you will enjoy.

Happy Photography to you all.

Chris

Chris - a good way to go out ... but it's never the end as far as your photography is concerned? I've much enjoyed your work through this project and it not for it we would maybe never have met? Do of course call and see us WHENEVER you are up our way? So here's to endings and new beginings :))

Well done, Chris - and it's been a pleasure to read through your pad as well as enjoy the photographs. Congratulations!

Has your year finished already? What a poignant touch with your last PaD.
You know there have been three '26 Things', don't you?
So glad you are to keep with PBase at least. Thanks for all those shots. ~~~Ray.

Heart beating a mile a minute (southern slang) as I opened this thumbnail-almost didnt. Dont get along to well with death.

Then I start laughing at the antics of us Pad'ers and find your humor delightful.
As Pall stated, I feel too that I have grown to 'know' you somewhat through your pictures each day. Congratulations on completing the year.

Hello Chris
This is indeed a surprise - I think I would have imagined almost anything else as your "grand finale" here. However, having seen this I find your choice most excellent.
Thank you for sharing those 366 days of your life with the rest of us. I have not got the change to meet you in person, but somehow I feel that I have gradually gotten to know you.
I really enjoyed your daily psostings, but even more did I enjoy your comments and your wonderful humour reflected in your work.
Happy Shooting Chris - keep on having fun !!
