Images from a wonderful week spent at the Hui Ho’olana Creative Retreat (www.huiho.org) on the island of Moloka’i
with digital photographer and instructor par excellance George Lepp (Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging), long-time National Geographic photographer and
all-around soulmaster Rikki Cooke (Rikki Cooke Photography), an incredible staff, and a workshop full of skilled photographers,
everyone embued with soul, passion and the spirit of aloha.
I got to experiment with a number of new digital techniques like
infared imaging, helicon macro focusing techniques and software, HDR techniques
and conversions in CS 2, stitched panoramas, flash portraiture . . .
all at a host of breathtaking locations only accessable with Rikki’s local knowledge and connections.
Special thanks to George, Rikki, Bob, Dick, Susan, Jim, Owen, Marilyn,
Tom, Bronwyn, Donna, Jeff, Jane, and Tiger the incomparable mini-Healer
for making my stay on Moloka’i so memorable!!
