Mantis

Runnymede Park - Herndon, Virginia

After a couple of shots it decided to turn the tables and chase after the camera lens. I had to
continually back up until I was out of the wildflower area. He sat at the edge for a bit to ensure
I was not returning and then went back to his normal activities.

I saw a strange creature today in the backyard. Could be same creature. Are they dangerous?

Looks like a happy camper tho'. When I started reseaching these, I was really surprised. For such a great looking insect, they have some nasty habits! There's no wonder they carry so many tells with them. Great shot, I've looked everytime I stopped by this year. Kept me inspired to find one. Thanks!
