Savannah is well known as a preservationist's wonderland, a city of Old World charm, with remarkable architecture that was spared from the torch by Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman and presented to President Lincoln in 1864 as a Christmas gift.
i'm a native of savannah born there in 1946 but to my regret no longer there. although photos are great photos of river street and broughton street should be added both before and after restoration.
I'm from Savannah and stumbling across your pictures makes me homesick. I'm in college in Milledgeville, which is similar in some ways to Savannah, but it definitely is not the same. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Now I appreciate Savannah just a little bit more than I have before. Oh, and night shots are great. :)
I enjoy all sorts of photos; however night shots have such a special appeal for me. When the sun leaves for the day, the darkness and lighting turn some of the most ordinary places into magic lands. Not that your dear Savannagh is ordinary. I thoroughly enjoyed all of your views. So interesting and varied. My compliments :).

Not only is it one of the prettiest cities, but they have the most hospitable southern ladies and gentlemen. I served with the Coast Guard reserves during Desert Storm in your fine city and was treated most graciously during my brief stay. This place is truly one great little community.

I live in this city and it still amazes me how beautiful it is. Especially when someone with your talent makes the images look so wonderful. Great job!
Well done, thanks for sharing. Savannah is on my short list of destinations for future travel.

Thank you for comments. We certainly enjoyed our stay there. I am not surprised that the French rate this town so high because I found it to resemble Paris in many ways and I am not French.
