Joshua Tree National Park

Just a few hours from San Diego, Joshua tree is tucked away just outside the resort area of Palm
Springs. Here hides a little known desert getaway, with a surprizing variety of plants and animals that
make their home in this harsh land. Away from the lights of the city, dark night skies are filled with
diamonds, and a home to some rather surreal geologic features. And of course, here is where you'll
find the largest gathering of some of biggest and oldest Joshua trees on the planet. As I pass through
these communities of these trees, especially at night, their long arms remind me of people reaching
to the sky. If the weeping has a sad demeanor, the Joshua tree seems to be it's joyous cousin.

This is a beautiful gallery Sandi. I guess I have to add this to my list of places to visit during future camping trips out west. I think we blew right by it during our recent trip because we didn't realize how beautiful it was. ~Carol
