What a wonderful discovery, stumbling upon this rich petrified forest on the Scenic Route 12, Utah, traveling from Arches to Bryce. Unlike the one in Arizona, most of this forest is located on a hillside. I love the color and contours.

I've driven by this place hundreds of times and never stopped. I'm kicking myself right now. Nice images Sandi. These are nicer than anything I saw at Petrified Forest National Park in AZ in March. Thanks for letting me know what I was missing.

This is a really interesting series, Sandi. Must have been fun to find these petrified trees by surprise. (Then again, the Escalante is full of surprises.) Well done!
