I had a chance to see this Bangkok wedding photographer in action.
He had a long name, but I called him "Khun Yul" because he looked
like the legendary actor Yul Brynner.
Damn, this guy was the real deal; he used a Mamiya RB67 with one lens
(the 127mm, I believe), used some homemade filters, and took like ONE
shot of each pose. All the prints were unbelievable!! Exposure, sharpness
were right on for each print.
I'm not saying that film is better, it's different. This has nothing to do
with film vs digital. The guy was working it hard, and making it look easy.
Obviously, working with film, and using an all manual camera makes it harder
than if he were working with a modern digital system. He actually told me
he wanted a D70 :-)
What I am saying is this guy taught me the true meaning of "pro" because
the guy was the real deal.
