Fushimi Inari gates

Fushimi-Inari, Kyoto

This is an impressive buddhist shrine near Kyoto, which I prefer to most others for its simplicity and amazing complex of miles of walking paths. A great part of these are covered by hundreds of buddhist gates (torii). The atmosphere is surreal and inspiring. There is also a beautiful bamboo forrest further up the mountain, and a gorgeous view from the summit over the whole city of Kyoto.

Such a wonderful feeling of balance here. I'm enticed into thinking what is round the bend. Love the colours.

my favourite of the whole series. Maybe for its simple elegance. V big way

What can one really say when a picture totally captures ones attention without sounding too trite, or bland (perhaps except that it has drawn much attention and delight)? Wonderfully done. V
