This was a gecko checking me out at a the Kona Starbucks coffee house. They have made that building a favorite place to hang out! I got this shot while this character was coming down an outside pilar painted a pale cream color.
The Madagascar day gecko (Phelsuma madagascariensis madagascariensis) is a diurnal subspecies of geckos.
How come these guys don't hang out at my Starbucks,Yves?
And even if they did,I don't think I'd be able to capture them sooooo beautifully as you do.

wonderful depth-of-field choice, impressive composition and of course, a wonderful smile :) i haven't seen such a good shot with lizards for ages.. that's why this will be my background image for months, i guess :) i was wondering what kind of a gecko is she?
Haha, me like, me so like! =)
Love all the photos here as well, since I am particularly sensitive to colors my self.
Thanks for sharing Yves!
Cheers! -Adi-
Thanks! It is the 28-135mm IS lens, I usually keep it on my lighter D60. The image was optimized with a level adjustement (white balance was done when converting from RAW).
