German Defenses above Omaha Beach

Normandy, FRANCE

Yesterday's post of the German Cemetery provoked lots of positive reactions. Nearby, however, the green grasses surround this old field gun aimed at the Allied invasion fleet in 1944.

This was taken in October 2000 before I had purchased my first digital camera. The softness of the image is underwhelming.
