When we pulled anchor at Norman's Cay early on that Wednesday morning the wind was very light. The water was as flat as mirrored glass.
Eventually the wind picked up to 10 to 15 knots.... just enough breeze to get Shibumi's attention. However, the wind was right on the bow; no good for sailing into. Initially we responded like most crusiers, most NOT all, and were motoring on a straight line from one GPS waypoint to the next. Going point to point is fine for a power boat... but we are a sailboat. So eventually it came to me to raise the sails and tack back and forth across the wind. We had to fall off of the wind 30-45 degrees to get a good angle on the moving air, but the sail was was exhilarating and according to GPS readings it only added 17 minutes to the 7 hour trip to Staniel Cay.

Beautiful images David
Glad things are going well for you folks
We had more snow last night,
but a calm sunny day today with rising temps in the days ahead.
