16-NOV-2006 Jill

November 17, 2006

Thursday, we took an afternoon walk through the European Village. Jill noticed a hastily-printed sign outside of the Village Wine Shop. It read, "Beaujolais Nouveau has Arrived". It just so happened that day was also the PBase Transglobal Challenge regarding food. I had learned from Chris Hadden and later JD that Thrusday was the release date of the 2006 Beaujolais Nouveau.

Inside the wine shop I found out that the shipment had just arrived 20 minutes before we did. I was the first in our little town to purchase the 2006 BN. It is an inexpensive wine, so I picked-up three bottles.

Once back home we called our neighbors Cliff and Cheryl to help celebrate the release of this year's grape.

Another thing I learned from the Thursday Transglobal Challenge:
I have always eaten kiwi fruit peeled and sliced. I don't know why, I just always have. After seeing Dominic Cantin's entry I started eating the fruit with a spoon... it makes so much more sense.

Thank you Lee and Beverley. I learn something new, each week, from every challenge.
