August 21, 2008

I wasn't planning to enter the challenge today... but then came lunch time.
Thursday's Totally Informal Transglobal Challenge: "Textures" something to separate the rough from the smooth.....

Again, I thank those of you who checked in on Jill and I. We have been in the eye of this amazing storm for most of the day. The wind and rain here has been light, so far
These shots were taken one hour BEFORE high tide. Our dock will be under water at high tide.
Our house is about 6 feet above the level of the dock, so we don't believe the water will reach that high... but then again we have to go through the other end of the eye.

So you are saying that food is an inspiration as long as you take the shot before you eat up the food.

The table, the plate, then the rind and finally the wonderful texture and swirls of the melon itself...beautiful.

I very much like the echo of the wood texture in the melon flesh.
The simple colors are appealing too, well composed!
