06-04 Sharlot Hall 01.jpg

The GOVERNOR'S MANSION was built in 1864 from Ponderosa pine logs cut nearby.
It served as home and office for the first territorial governor, John Goodwin,
until 1867 when the territorial capital was moved to Tucson. In 1927,
Sharlot M. Hall moved into the mansion and opened it as a museum a year later.
