The Sun was going behind the clouds, but still 10 minutes from falling behind the Promontory Range to the southwest.
It was only 25 degrees F. on the valley floor, so ice crystals were beginning to show in the Sunset...just a bit of a 'Sun Dog.'
If the clouds had not been so heavy in the west, the ice crystals would have become quite bright and luminescent.
