It sometimes happens that a plant gets lost after it's discovery. This happened with the orchid Phalaenopsis appendiculata. This tiny species was discovered early last century and since then not seen again untill the 90's.
Clearly these woods are poorly botanized as the species is not rare where we have found it. Another orchid we found during our hike there was the Cheirostylis goldschmidtiana. The pictures you'll find here are very likely the first ones ever made of this species as it was also not seen for almost a hundred years before we found it again.
