On this photopage you will see the amazing world of plants in a way you rarely do.
With more than 7000 photo's this page is intended to give you somewhat of a scientific view of the plants and flowers shown and not really a romantic one. Focus lies in the important details and true colours.
The photo's on this page are therefore used by scientists worldwide and the naming of the plants constantly monitored and updated with the help of several of the world's most renowed taxonomists.

Many plants on this page are very rare and therefore it often happens that the photo's have been made from cultivated plants. As I dislike 'fake' photography these photo's are easily recognisable by the gray or black studio background that make the important details stand out best.
All plants that look like they where photographed in nature really are, unless otherwhiles stated.

I hope you will be as amazed as I am by the variation in colours and shapes the botanical world has to offer.

spring 2013 :: Soon to come. The album South Africa. Currently I'm busy working on the photo's and the album. The album is therefore closed. As soon as it is presentable it will be made public.::

Autumn 2012 :: Bulbophyllum nocturnum. "the first recognised night flowering orchid" which got worldwide attention in new's, radio and newspapers can be seen on this photopage under Orchids from a-z.
There is just a single plant of this species in cultivation.

Summer 2012 ::The "Kinabalu national Park" album in side the Malaysia album has been updated. The amount of photo's more than tripled. The album now shows pictures made in Januari 2010 and from Februari/March 2012. Photo's of many rare and endemic species such as slipper orchids and carnivorous Nepenthes can be seen there ::
