Douglas C-47A-15-DK 6054/1-054 (42-92865, c/n 12713, built in 1944) of 1nciTHKK, 1st air force headquarters at Eskisehir. Beautiful oldie! Last noted at Erkilet in 1994, 50 years after entering service with the USAAF. Fate?

42-92865 served well in WW II. The invasion in Normandy in June 1944 and Operation Market Garden in September 1944 are linked to this aircraft. It served with 306 Troop Carrier Squadron (TCS) at the time.

This version of the original DC3 plane is one of the most recognized plane in the world. I think the DC3 has the record of on-going continued service in the world. It is still flying commercially in several countries, as cargo and passenger plane. Thanks for sharing! V
