It has been exactly 7 years now since we returned to the Algarve, Portugal, for a holiday.
In april 2010 we had a bad experience there: my wife Annemarie became ill and had to stay in a hospital for three days.
We wanted to return home as soon as possible but due to the insurance rules she wasn't allowed to fly for another 10 days.
Then, after these 10 days, the ashclouds from Iceland made our flying back once more impossible.
So all in all, our planned holiday of 11 days lasted almost a month.

Coming back now to the place where we stayed made us overcome our fears.
Algarve still is a lovely place and especially the western part where we stayed again is very green.
This time I only used my wide angled 12-24mm lens
