Lefkada is one of the seven so called Ionian Islands at the west side of Greece.
Although easily accessible it is not overwhelmed by mass tourism and certainly not in september.
When we were there the island had a heat wave followed by a storm-front including a tornado.
Very sadly it it caused two casualties at the east coast at at a place called Vlychos.
A great number of sailyaughts were thrown at shore which caused millions of damage.

Lefkada is very green and especially at the rough and steep west coast there are numerous (olive) trees.
I guess the sea there has one of the most spectacular and beautiful bluish colors on earth.
