Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in Yellowstone, though not the world. Grand Prismatic is about 250 by 300 feet in size. It is also, hot and deep, 160 degrees Fahrenheit and up to 160 feet deep. Often, it is surrounded by highly colorful cyanobacteria mats. The water at the edge of the boardwalk is the temperature of a tepid bath.
