Thom & Sandy Bernard's Blue 93 IRoc R/T (1 of 8 PVP Pilot Car)

This Iroc R/T has a Body Tag that identifies it as a "Pilot Car". Also note the Dodge Ram's Head emblem on the nose of the car (see the 2nd and 3rd pictures). It is a raised emblem not the standard Rams Head Decal. The nose piece is also slightly recessed around the emblem. Very unusual!

A pilot car is usually a test fit car
it is an early run down the production line or a car that is built to be sure that its going to actually fit together when production starts.

What does pilot car mean? I have an 88 turbo lebaron gtc convertible and it says that on my fender tag too.
