Candi Lumbung (Temple) at Prambanan in Central Java

The Prambanan complex of temples is located in Central Java between Yogyakarta and Solo (formerly Surkarta). The complex has both Hindu and Buddhist temples which were built in the 8th. 9th and 10th centuries. Candi Lumbung is a Buddhist temple and dates from around 850AD. On 27 May 2006 an earthquake of magnitude of 6.4 centred on the coastline south of Yogyakarta hit the area. The temples were not too badly damaged but Candi Lumbung seems to have deteriorated since I was last here in 2002.
