The weather here the last while has been nothing less than dreadful. We had a little bit of spring-like weather early last week. Then it snowed and since then we've been stuck in a deep freeze that feels more like mid December than late March. Spring has been patchy this year, like the patches of breeding plumage on these molting male goldfinches at my feeders.
