Ballet Dancers have a body like no others. From the age of 4 these dancers have trained their muscles as they grew and at the same time, they learned to control all of them. This gallery is dedicated to the female ballet dancers beautiful instrument. I have taken away the colorful costumes and the smiling faces to focus attention on their incredible form, strength and control. Instead of a pure black and white treatment, I left a hint of detail here and there.
The pedestal is actually a 24" clay flower pot painted off white with a plywood top. It was a little unsteady and tipped easily. Some of the poses are quite difficult and some were even dangerous. There were 2 spotters, one on each side of the pedestal just outside of camera range...and they were needed frequently!!
And so we have beautiful dancers on a pedestal.....
