Dance Festival Highlights

Regional Dance America held its 50th Anniversary National Festival April 24th through April 28th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I was in attendance as their official photographer. There were over 80 dance companies and almost 2000 dancers in attendance. Each dance company performed a short dance or ballet. These images are some of my favorite performance shots and were shot at the dress rehearsals. I used a Canon 5D set at ISO 1600 and a Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS.

When Richard Calmes adds a new gallery, one instinctively knows one's in for a treat! This without doubt is one your finest works to date in my opinion Richard. Beautiful use of the available "low" light. Perfectly composed shots. It is amazing to see that regardless of the unfamiliarity of the performances you were able to find the perfect spots every time. I doubt that there would have been any other positions worth while other than the ones you selected. This is truly the master at work and you have lived up to your name, and beyond all of our expectations.
