It was about 40 minutes before curtain and the dancers had just finished a warm-up class on the stage.
I asked Lisa Sheppard-Robson, their Artistic Director, if they could all do a jump for me before they left to get dressed.
I had 10 minutes! They all lined up at one end of the stage and I stood at the center of the stage where the light seemed to be the brightest.
I said "you can do any jump you want but I want you in the air right here!"


I love a challenge and this was it! I had no clue which jump each each dancer (or sometimes more)would do. I set my camera at 1/250 sec. and they started.
One after another they ran toward me. No time to plan. No time to think. Just snap, snap, snap!
