Twin Spotted Spiketail (Cordulegaster maculata)

The most common of our spiketails, and in some cases, locally abundant. The yellow abdominal top spots are in narrowly-separated pairs. Delta-spotted Spiketail is smaller and has more widely separated abdominal spots. Arrowhead Spiketail has arrow-shaped top spots on the abdomen. The cruisers (Macromiidae) have only one thoracic side stripe.
