I'm not sure how many time we were able to have visitors but it was obviously at least once. My mom lived in Southern California and Ft. Ord is in central California. I had a cousin, Sigred, that lived with her family, husband Gene and son Robert, in the Bay area so it made it convenient for my mom to visit. My mom would have gone anywhere to support for any of her three kids and this would not be the only time she visited Ft. Ord nor the only time she came to this area to see me. My dad had died a few years before which accounts for his absence.
