Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely.

Bird & nature photography tend to require great patience with long periods of time spent waiting for that right photographic moment. However occasionally something strange & unexpected is accidentally captured -perhaps an unusual perspective on a bird/animal, or maybe even some rarely seen behaviour is witnessed. Often these moments are bizarre, outlandish or just plain funny; whilst others are effectively short stories in the life of a wild creature.

Here are some of my serendipitous moments, out-takes & wee stories. Most are single images but a few involve multiple images & are best viewed as slideshows:-
