Mara Birds

The Mara holds an amazing selection of birds. Habitats include rivers, marshes, riparian forest, scrub & extensive grassland plains. The Mara birdlist exceeds 450 species & includes a large number of raptors amongst many other spectacular species BUT (there always is one!) we travelled to the Mara to see mammals not birds. Despite this I did get a chance to photograph a number of bird species -mainly from a vehicle & usually in less than ideal light conditions. This gallery holds a selection of these images -most are just record shots but at least they hint at the amazing range of birds to be found in the Mara.

maasai mara is absolutly the best in game driving n bird watching.

I visited both Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru last month. Both are like paradises in real sense. A nature lover can easily keep seated in those places for days together watching the heavenly beauties mother nature offers to us for viewing.
