Some Wildebeeste had already began to cross the river but were spooked by an inexperienced young male Lion who revealed himself too early. Being unable to continue the crossing or re-trace their steps the Wildebeeste waded up along the centre of the river which had steep & impassable embankments on either side for about 200 metres. Eventually they reached another crossing point but unfortunately another ambush lay there in wait!
