It was a sunny & surprisingly hot afternoon. Having watched this Red-throat successfully fishing close inshore on a high tide I was surprised to see it haul-out onto the bank where it had a snooze in the warm afternoon sun. Despite napping it remained alert through half-closed eyes sliding back into the water when a man & dog appeared. (Image taken late September 2007 @ The Lurgies, Montrose Basin).
