An iconic species of the Scottish Highlands & Islands. Scotland holds 5% of the European population of this impressive raptor & whilst population density on Mull & Skye are some of the highest in the world the Scottish population is still well below the potential carrying capacity of the land due to persecution on Grouse moors. Sadly, in Scotland this is a bird that has to be savoured from a distance.
