Pileated Woodpecker

Chickamauga Battlefield

I spotted this beauty in the Chickamauga Battlefield. It was staying near the base of the pine trees, then hopping on the ground, doing something that I couldn't see, and then hopping to the next pine tree. I was shaking so bad from excitement that my photos aren't the best they could be. :( Pileated woodpeckers are very shy and I couldn't believe this one didn't fly away when it saw my car (which I hid behind to take pictures).
