Zion Day 3: Keyhole Canyon & Angel's Landing

After consecutive BIG days in the backcountry Kathy and I were both exhausted. The Subway was about a 9 hour adventure, and Mystery was about the same. We decided to go a little bit smaller on our third day, and ended up descending Keyhole Canyon. Keyhole Canyon is considered a beginner technical canyon. It is short, very sweet, and only requires 3 rappels. There are 2 mandatory swims in Keyhole Canyon, and when we went through the second one there was a snake in it, yikes! Since Keyhole Canyon was a short outing, about 2 hours, we decided to hike up Angel's Landing in the afternoon. Angel's Landing is probably Zion's premier day hike, and certainly the most well known. The hike up Angel's Landing is probably comparable to Yosemite's Half Dome in that there are permanent chains installed due to the exposure.
